Bridge to the film’s title refers is real, that connects the outskirts of the former West Berlin and Potsdam city center, previously controlled East Germany. He received the “bridge of spies” in the 60s, when the Soviet secret services and the Americans swapped prisoners in said location.
Bridge of War – after a screenplay by Matt Charman, Ethan Coen and Joel recrystallized – tells the story of the first bridge made prisoner exchange, and lawyer James Donovan tests (Tom Hanks) to negotiate the release pilot Francis Gary Powers after his plane was shot down over the Soviet Union.
So it is a dramatic thriller set against the backdrop of a series of historical events. “Bridge of Spies” tells the story of James Donovan (Hanks), a Brooklyn lawyer who finds himself thrown into the center of the Cold War, the CIA sends the almost impossible task to negotiate the release of an American U-2 pilot captured.
