“Detachment” is a chronicle of three weeks in the lives of several high school teachers, administrators and students, seen through the eyes of a substitute teacher Henry Barthes.
Henry come and go from school to school, imparting modes of knowledge, but never stayed long enough to form any trace of attachment. A perfect profession for someone who seek to hide in plain sight. One day, Henry reached his next “place of business”. On entry into this school, a secret world of emotion is awakened in him by three women. A girl named Meredith, a colleague, dra.Madison and a prostitute named Erika, which Henry offered him shelter, taking it to the streets for a while. Each of these women, like Henry, are in a life and death struggle to find beauty in a seemingly vicious world and unloving.
