Goodbye / Goodbye, Mohammad Rasoulof tells the story of a lawyer, Noura, whose attempts to leave Iran are constantly foiled by Power, the woman revoking his license even to practice. Appealing to feelings of fear and despair, the director Mohammad Rasoulof (himself prevented formally from doing movies – on 20 December 2010, was sentenced by the Iranian government to six years in prison for “assembly, conspiracy and propaganda against the regime “and Abbas Kiarostami has asked to be released, along with another convicted for similar reasons, Jafar Panahi) builds a fitting metaphor for the pressures felt by many people in Iran today.
