When the legions of alien monstrous creatures called Kaiju begin to rise from the depths of the oceans, which interrupts a war breaks out millions of lives and resources exhausted humanity. To cope Kaiju giants, were made a special type of weapons: giant robots, called Jaeger, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are synchronized through a passage called neural Drift. But as the enemy gains strength with every attack, even Jaeger robots are defenseless in the face of relentless Kaiju.
On the eve of defeat, guard forces of humanity have not choice but heaven help of two people hardly seen as heroes – a disgraced former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and his apprentice (Rinko Kikuchi) – which, as a team, lead a Jaeger robot that seemed outdated. Together are humanity’s last chance before the apocalypse.
Guillermo del Toro, the Oscar-nominated film Pan’s Labyrinth directed sci-fi action script written by him in collaboration with Travis Beacham, as a concept of Beacham. Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, del Toro and Mary Parent produced the film, Callum Greene served as executive producer and co-producer Jillian Zask.
The Ring of Fire plays Charlie Hunnam, actor from the series Sons of Anarchy, Idris Elba, who played Thor, Rinko Kikuchi, nominated for an Oscar for her role in Babel, Charlie Day in Horrible Bosses, Rob Kazinsky, Max Martini, Clifton Collins Jr., Burn Gorman and Rob Perlman, Hellboy movies. The team’s backstage del Toro includes director of photography Oscar winner, Guillermo Navarro (Pan’s Labyrinth), set designers and Carol Spier Neskoromny Andrew, Peter Amundson and John Gilroy, assembly, and designer Kate Hawley. The music was composed by Ramin Djawdi. Visual effects supervisors John Knoll and were James E. Price, Hal Hickel and animation supervisor.
