Late autumn in Siberia. In taiga, in a deserted village, lives an old man named Ivan, together with his nephew Lesh aged 7 years. A pack of wild dogs devour all life in the area. One of these dogs is the best friend of Lesh. Sometimes Yuti, the boy’s uncle, is coming to bring food and, once, turning back to his house, he attacked by dogs and dies. Ivan and Lesh remain without supplies. One day, the boy surprises Ivan aiming at the dog which he considers his friend and runs away. Bărtrânul will find later the boy hid in a well drained, but can not get him out of there alone. In this situation starts to seek aid and exposing themselves to the danger posed wild dogs.
