A été Brule is a film directed by Philippe Garrel and tells the story of a troubled relationship between a painter, Frédéric (Louis Garrel) and an actress, Angèle (Monica Bellucci). The couple, who live in Paris befriend a couple of actors, Élisabeth and Paul (Céline Sallette and Jérôme Robart). The four go to Rome where their relationships begin to suffer profound changes. Living in the same apartment, the two men start a law firm friendship but on the other hand women are struggling with their own complex: jealousy, resentment, infidelity, rejection. What happens eventually in Rome, marks the lives of four people in different ways. The film premiered on September 2, 2011 at the International Film Festival of Venice.
