Based on the classic novel written by author Louisa May Alcott, the film Little Women follows the lives of the March sisters during the American Civil War. At the center of the action is Jo (Saoirse Ronan), an aspiring writer, around whom the stories of the other three sisters, Meg, Beth and Amy are woven.
It is superb! Greta Gerwig pays close attention to every detail, so that each scene has its own significance, like a small universe, no matter how brief and seemingly irrelevant. Nothing that could be considered “filling”. I liked the chronological structure and especially the performance of Florence Pugh.
