“Oz the Great and Powerful” (Oz: The Great and Powerful), the new Disney film production, illustrates the origins beloved characters created by L. Frank Baum, now more than 100 years.
The story begins with the ouster of Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a circus magician with dubious ethical principles, from dusty Kansas. It thus reach the Land of Oz, a place full of life and believe that he had luck on it: here could become famous and could enrich. But soon, through three witch-of-the-Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not sure that this is the great wizard you all waiting.
Unwittingly, the magician becomes involved in the affairs of his new country and its people and must drive back the talent and charm to distinguish good from evil, before it’s too late. The Oscar turns “Magician of Oz The Great and Powerful” and at the same time, it becomes a better man.
