Sand Castle (2017) is a war drama established during the occupation of Iraq and is pursuing a team of American soldiers trying to protect a small village. Iraq 2003, a group of US soldiers are in the early days of the Second Gulf War. Matt Ocre, an inexperienced young soldier, is part of the platoon tasked with repairing a damaged water pumping station in a dangerous village called Baquba. But, as Ocre discovers, in an atmosphere where resentment and anger overflows, trying to win the hearts and minds of the locals, it is a dangerous task and a real challenge. Here, on the streets, in markets and schools, he discovers the real cost of the war. Matt and the unit must try to convince the locals that they are part of the solution, not the problem. They will do everything in their power to save the city, so that they can get out of there safely. War is horrible, but sometimes it is the only way to protect democracy and freedom in the long run.
