1913, Budapest, in the heart of Europe. The young Irisz Leiter arrives in the Hungarian capital hoping to engage as a seamstress in the legendary hat shop that belonged to her late parents. However, it is denied by Oszkár Brill, the new owner. As the store prepares for the visit of some very important guests, a gentleman approaches Irisz looking for a particular Kálmán Leiter. The young woman refuses to leave the city and chooses to follow Kálmán’s footsteps, her only connection to a lost past. The search for a beer on the dark streets of Budapest, where the luminous spot of this period boiling on the edge of an imminent war is the Leiter hat shop.
