Found in a dirty and horrible Catholic hospital, Darlin’s wild teenager is taken to an orphanage run by a bishop and his obedient nuns where she is domesticated to be a good girl, thus representing an example of the church’s miracle. However, the girl has a much darker secret than the sins she is threatened with and does not travel alone. The wild and tough woman who raised her is always present and is determined to follow her no matter who stands in her way.
