Journalist Rahimi travels to the Iranian holy city of Mashhad to investigate the case of a serial killer who kills sex workers. As Rahimi gets closer to uncovering the crimes, political and religious pressures increase and the opportunity for justice becomes more and more distant: the criminal is seen by many as a hero.
The film is based on a real case, that of the criminal Saeed Hanaei called “Spider Killer”, who between 2000 and 2001 killed 16 women in what he called “a holy mission”.
