The Half of It

Ellie, a 10th grade but shy student, helps Paul, a left-handed football player, win over a very popular girl. But their unexpected friendship is complicated when Ellie realizes that she has fallen in love with the same girl.
Ellie, a marginalized nerd, rounds off her income by writing essays for school lunatics. When her colleague, a member of the American football team, Paul Munsky (Daniel Diemer), asks her to bring a note of poetry to the note she made for their beautiful colleague, Aster Flores (Alexxis Lemire), Ellie is really disgusted. But she decides to help him.
He has a very nice young cast, he has a lot of humor and he knows how to show respect for culture, cleverness and depth, without hitting others in the face. Unfortunately, it also has enough moments of poorly written dialogue and predictability in progress that I can’t consider it more than a nice movie for the moments when you want to watch something easy.
