The film tells the story of Veronica (Haley Lu Richardson), a 17-year-old girl who never thought she would want to fail a test – until she is in front of a piece of plastic with two pink lines. Her promising future at a good college is threatened, and Veronica considers a decision she didn’t think she would have to make at this age. The difficult decision takes her on a journey of hundreds of kilometers to New Mexico with her ex-girlfriend Bailey (Barbie Ferreira). During the three-day journey, the two young women will discover that one of the most important factors in a person’s life is true friendship.
